Physical and Occupational Therapy

At Benton-Franklin Orthopedic Associates, we have some of the best, highly trained physical and occupational therapists in the Columbia Valley, along with state-of-the-art rehab facilities and equipment. Your therapist will evaluate your injury by asking questions to better understand your current condition. We will prepare you to start light strengthening exercises or stretching to enhance your range of motion. Depending upon your unique needs, you may receive a home exercise program and prescription medications to be taken as directed by your physician.

Your treatment plan may include are:

Therapeutic exercise
Improves muscle imbalances and impairments through movement re-education, flexibility, strengthening, and cardiovascular exercise.

Manual therapy
Includes soft tissue mobilization, strain-counterstrain techniques, muscle energy techniques, traction, and joint and spine mobilization.

Modalities

Education
Patients, family members, and caregivers are educated about the patient’s condition and treatment plan, as well as a home exercise program.
